Mr. Ruiz graduated cum laude, from The Florida State University with a bachelor of science in accounting. He obtained his juris doctorate at Hofstra University, School of Law in New York, where he served as the vice-president of Student Bar Association. Since joining DeMahy Labrador Drake Victor Payne & Cabeza, the focus of Mr. Ruiz's practice has been in the areas of property and casualty defense, professional malpractice defense, premises liability defense, complex commercial litigation and labor and employment defense.

Mr. Ruiz is a native of Miami and is fluent in Spanish. He is admitted to practice law throughout the state of Florida and is a member of the Florida Bar Association, American Bar Association, Miami-Dade Bar Association and the Cuban American Bar Association.

He is a native of Miami and an avid sports fan who enjoys playing golf and basketball.
